Mandafofanda Reads Lots

The world isn't just the way it is. It is how we understand it, no?

And in understanding something, we bring something to it, no?
Doesn't that make life a story?

- Yann Martel, Life of Pi

Water (Akasha #1) - Terra Harmony The better book: Elemental series by Brigid Kemmerer

As much as the description and idea seemed cool - eco-defenders of the world that use their nature-inspired abilities to do good - there were so many flaws and distractions that I couldn't bring myself to continue past maybe about halfway into the book.

The Good:
- interesting idea
- Kaitlyn (sometimes)

The Bad:
- horribly awkwardly portrayed characters
- Kaitlyn falling for Micah because of.. his eyes, and vice versa because.. well I have no idea
- Cato supposedly being the old wise leader, though not pulling it off
- story that jumps from scene to scene with no background and little thought process leaving me confused to anyone's motivations for their actions

I hoped this book would seem better judging from all the rave reviews it has, but unfortunately the good can't outweigh the bad for me.
